Not a fan and not returning! This place is dumpy. I was in the mood for a tuna melt and was too lazy to make one at home so I decided to venture into this little cubby for the second time. My first experience was a bagel before work that I ordered as take-out, but this time I decided I'd sit in and take it all in. For starters, this is an establishment that clearly needs some TLC. Everything here is done as cheap as they can possibly get away with and the cleanliness is highly questionable. There are areas where moth and rust consume and even the chairs need reupholstering. No style, no design, no flow! This place needs a major face lift and a good ole'deep clean. Additionally, the service is sketchy. The one lady there was a hostess, waitress and cashier. She juggles all while walking on eggshells cause the cook in the back is constantly yelling out orders and ringing the bell. She must drop what she is doing, even if it's a customer paying and run over to grab the plate from the window so he doesn't have a breakdown. I hate to be offensive, but the guy seems like a douche. The customers here the day of my visit were five ladies from a nursing home along with their aid. They seem to be regulars but they also seemed to be completely clueless so I can imagine things like this don't phase them. Ketchup bottles have been refilled one too many times so the plastic has actually lost its splendor. It no longer feels plastic, labels are faded, dirty and sticky- same issue with the syrup. None of the condiments have tops on them...???? Not sure why that is, but it's a little gross when I think of what might have crawled in there and made itself a home. Tuna melt was a tuna melt...nothing to brag about, nothing too memorable and on this particular day, customers needed to have cash on hand because the credit card machine was not working. According to the one employee out there, it's because the owner is always on the phone tying up the line. What do you do if you have no cash? You leave your credit card number and at the end of the day she runs them all thru....haha....NO THANK YOU! I scoured every last penny in my pocketbook and came up with exact change- not a penny more even for tip which I felt bad about.

My sister and I ate at this restaurant for the first time today. We honestly should have left when we saw the way the highchairs were maintained. They were disgusting but we had a highchair cover so we continued since kids will be kids... after ordering our food it finally comes out when we hear the chef in the background fussing at the one waitress about substituting the coleslaw for potato salad and to charge us for doing so. Also during us ordering the waitress said $2.25 for one pancake for the baby. Her pancake came out with sausages which looked like they were still frozen so I immediately asked him to cook then a bit more. My nieces bacon was cooked well well done, and hearing the chef complain the whole time in the background to the waitress we just decided not to send it back. The waitress drops off the checks and we noticed extra charges for miscellaneous things. We asked what they are for and she said lettuce and tomatoes for the sandwich and cream cheese for the bagels....... the pancake that was supposed to be $2.25 was $2.75 and the food was nothing to write home about!!!!... I was hoping this place would work out since I live around the corner however I don't think we will be returning.

Just a mile or two away there is a place called Mayors Cafe. Off of Taft and Hiatus. Night and day comparison. This is my new home for breakfast

Awful service. Get ready to find your own condiments and have to leave your table to find the waitress for a refill on your coffee. Went there when there were only two other tables occupied and the one waitress was drowning trying to keep up. The bus boy??.... he doesn't give a crap and does nothing to help. Canned mushrooms. Nothing seems fresh. Portion sizes have gone down drastically although the sticky menu's prices have not gone down at all. Sticky Ketchup bottles have old labels(old as in not even current logo for company that changed years ago!) and clearly are refilled with cheap runny junk. The ladies at the table next to us even pointed it out! If you are looking for a great alternative there is a great little diner on the corner of Taft and hiatus in the publix plaza. Mayor cafe.... its near the McDonald's.

This place dont dissapoint. They have been consistent with all of our orders. Food is hot and nicely seasoned. It also helps that they are loxated in the same plaza that I work at. Ive tried different items from their menu and have had repeats of the really yummy ones. Like the biscuit and gravy and the eggle. The eggle is a close second favorite of mine a bagel with fried egg and cheese with a choice of bacin, sausage, or ham. The staff is friendly and the space is actually large. You can bring a group here or have a cozy breakfast date. Love this place. Just be sure to brinf xash if your not ordering over 10 dollars.

The bagels were OK. But the worst service! Do not recommend this place! We asked the waitress for more coffee. She said OK but never brought it. And the place was not busy. She was standing in the back talking to the cook. Very disappointed in this restaurant.

Came here for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. I had the bacon and cheese omelet. It was fresh and delicious! My girl had the international omelet and she loved it. Definitely going back another time. The waitress was friendly and very nice. The owner is very funny as well

First off, I hardly ever write bad reviews on establishments because my momma taught me that if you have nothing good to say, don't say nothing at all... well I can't let this one slide. It was Easter Sunday and my fiancé and I came in to have breakfast to start our day. We have been here several times before and the service has always been very friendly and prompt (which is pretty much the only reason we come back). I am not a picky guy when it comes to being critical of establishments. I don't think I've ever written a negative review on Yelp. Usually I give every place the benefit of the doubt and I can overlook a lot of negatives: slow service, poor quality food, and even unfriendly staff. But unfortunately none of those are the reasons why I'm giving this place a 1 Star review... it's actually much worse than that. This review is purely based on an abusive owner and how he treats his staff and waitresses. Here at Bagel Time you have an abusive owner/manager degrading his staff in front of customers, screaming and cursing at them at the top of his lungs, threatening to shut the doors and fire them while calling them stupid to the point where they can't help but cry. Can you imagine how big of a jerk you have to be to make 50 year old women cry? He was abrasive, rude and embarrassing. It disgusts me to see people treated this way. The more he yelled at her, the more she became flustered and made mistakes. Whoever this owner is he needs to learn how to manage people and understand that happy employees = happy customers. There were about 15 people in the restaurant at the time when his temper started to get out of control... He was cooking on the line and screaming at the two waitresses on the floor, yelling at them calling them idiots and cursing at them because they were "f****** incompetent." Those were his exact words! Can you imagine being treated like that in front of customers you're serving? He obviously had no regard for his customers as he was completely oblivious to them getting up and walking out or sitting uncomfortably silent in shock. He wasn't even trying to keep his voice down. Talk about being unprofessional. He was literally slamming the plates in the window and repeatedly hitting the ready bell over and over while screaming the servers name as she was attending to a guest at the register. What a scene! My fiancé and I were in complete disbelief. Never have I seen such a nasty and cruel display of poor management. I have been in the industry for over 15 years now and this was the worst thing I think I have ever witnessed. The only reason I didn't go back into the kitchen and give this guy a piece of my mind was that I didn't want the waitresses to get into any more trouble then they apparently already were. I even asked them in between his outbursts why they put up with his crap and they said they desperately needed the job and couldn't afford to lose it. How horrible to have to put up with this degrading and verbally insulting cockroach of a human being. The couple behind us even got up to pay their check and said to the server before they left that they will not return again because how he treated her. As for me and my fiancé, we left our coffee on the table and walked out. We will never come back again. I cannot and will not support a man who treats his employees in this manner. He really needs to get a dose of his own medicine one day. I will write this review on every site I can.

Please don't even dare walk in this place. The restaurant is filthy. The silver ware had chunks of food on it and the cups had old lip stick. I asked her to get me expresso and milk and she said it would take a while because she's the only person working in the restaurant except the cook . As I was watching her because this place scared me I saw her attempt to heat my milk and she literally had the milk in a Styrofoam cup and put it in the microwave. Wtf. I just told her never mind. I ordered waffles and when I went to grab the syrup it was so sticky cause it was never clean and the label was hard to read because it had to be a 5 year old lable. We are talking about a syrup bottle from the grocery store. If u look around this place hasn't had a deep clean in 10 years. I repeat do not go here. I could just imagine what the owner house looks like inside. Disgusting!. Also the lady was running the whole time to do 10 things at once. Yes! Running.

This little gem is a diner type of restaurant with a heavy influence of New York. The food is typical diner food with an emphasis on bagels (hence the name). I ordered the lentil soup, which was amazing, and the turkey melt (also very good). The waitress was very attentive and friendly, I would definitely come here again!

I have been a recurrent customer here. I love this little restaurant. The waitress is very sweet and quick! Services is really fast and food is delicious. Prices are fair and I enjoy coming here on weekends for breakfast. I would recommend to those looking for a breakfast spot. I haven't tried their lunch menu yet but it must be good too!
